Still no word about the arrival of the family so we're still basically in a holding pattern. But I wanted to send you all a personal invitation to attend our upcoming community film night! QRSG has purchased a couple of films about the Karen people and are holding a FREE film night for the community on Monday, June 20th, at St. Mark's Anglican Church.
June 20th also happens to be World Refugee Day and we thought this would be a great way to mark the occasion! We're calling the evening "Journey to a New Life / Insights into Karen Culture" and are hoping that this event will help build a better understanding of the family that will soon make their home in Qualicum Beach. We will be screening two documentary films followed by informal discussion and refreshments. As I said, this event is free and everyone is welcome to attend!
